Adam Cooper-Terán is an award-winning independent media artist from Tucson, Arizona, best known for his video installations with various performers based in the Southwest & Mexico. His work has reached international audiences, from the French Embassy of Mexico City, to the Diana Krall Plaza in Nanaimo, British Columbia.
Experimental meta-sampling is the primary focus of Adam’s work, using the Internet as a medium in and of itself. Methods become similar to DJing, cooking, or Lego-building. Subjects explore a range of topics including (but not limited to) pornography, holography, urban sprawl, portraiture, terrorism, linguistics, history, world news, and all things paranormal, mystical, or unexplained.
Current projects are generally focused on the exploration of interactive video through performance and spectacle, while undermining mainstream media in any way possible.
