Spoken Video 101: A Workshop by Verbobala
Mexico City / Tucson-based performance collective Verbobala introduces the basics of multimedia performance art using live video projections, spoken word and improvisation. Through exercises and collaborative experiments, participants are encouraged to consider new ways to relate to the stage, the poem, and digital media. Structured freestyle and real-time image manipulation allow spoken video to become more than just a sum of its parts: come play with the possibilities that it offers for your creative expression.

Participants are asked to bring a poem (memorized if possible) and 4 — 8 digital images that relate in any way to that poem. Images should be brought to the workshop in JPEG format, either on a CD-ROM or USB drive, or emailed ahead of time to info@verbobala.com.
