Ey compas,

we greet you from smoggy and energetic Mexico City. The green VW bugs are busy in their scurry across the city, knowing that their days are numbered (they’ll be replaced by 2011). Art is everywhere: digital storytelling in the subway, dubstep in the bars, poetry in the newspapers.

We’ve set up a studio here in Coyoacán, where we’re getting set for the second half of the Mexico tour. A lot has happened lately.

First off, we’d like to introduce you to Emtron, a DJ friend from Logan’s Flagstaff days who will be with us on tour in Mexico. We have a number of “Sonidero Verbobala” shows lined up... for those of you who haven’t seen the craziness yet, Sonidero Verbobala is our party side project. Cumbia ‘n bass, balkan horns, ritmo and visuals. Logan (DJ / MC), Moi (DJ / MC / VJ) and Adam (VJ / mysticism) in full fiesta action. We’ll have a mixtape online soon. Emtron will be laying down the vinyl goodness with us in Cholula and again in Mexico City where we play on the 8th with Ruth’s Selecta.

Then on Saturday, October 11th we’ll be closing the 4th annual Poesía.en.Voz.Alta festival at UNAM (Mexico’s national university) Casa del Lago in Chapultepec (Mexico City’s Central Park). We’re very excited about this. The festival is the largest of its kind in Mexico, and when we played last year we were blown away by the audience’s response. This year we’ve prepared several new spoken video pieces specifically for the festival, it just might be the biggest show we’ve done yet. Buy a plane ticket and come for the weekend!

Tour ends on the 20th and the three of us will be wrapped up in solo projects until 2009 when Barak takes office. Amigos gringos: don’t forget to vote for the candidate of your choosing.
